Week 5, Term 2


HOMEWORK


SPELLING
Complete your look, say, cover, write, check in your LSCWC small notebook.

STUDYLADDER
New Studyladder tasks have been set for this week.
Area (and a touch of perimeter) is the focus.
Please also try to do one mental (Mental2) (times tables task per day)

Studyladder only allows us to do 3 tasks per night. For instance you can do 2 data tasks (once) and
the times tables task as many times as you want.

MATHS
Begin your Chicken Coop on your block of land, we will expand on this in class and begin working out costs on Tuesday.

JAPANESE
There will be a test this Wednesday on 10 hiragana characters, from the sets A and KA. Spend 5 minutes on Monday and Tuesday night, or/and during Drive Time to revise them. If you are confident with hiragana please learn for the katakan equivalent.

READING
Read for ten minutes every night or twenty minutes three times in a week.

Week 3, Term 2

NAPLAN

Well done to all the year 5s last week for the effort and concentration they put into their NAPLAN tests.
And thank you year 6s for your patience and cooperation during NAPLAN testing, coping with all the disruption.

New Studyladder tasks have been set for this week. A little multiplication revision and some work on data and graphing to support what we have been doing in Maths and Health.

JAPANESE
Juggling! Find those juggling balls or three old tennis balls that your dog hasn't chewed to bits. One of our goals this term is to learn how to juggle three balls, which research has shown will help improve concentration and other areas of the brain. We will be practising the juggling while practising how to count to 100 in Japanese. Good luck! 5 minutes a day.

Studyladder will return to our classroom in Term 2. Please do not feel that you must pay for anything.
We will be using the Education Access, where students have unlimited access throughout the school day
and 3 tasks outside of school hours (Homework access).
Students will be given logins and passwords today (Monday) and we will walk them through the expectations.

All tasks set are based on NAPLAN-style questioning

STUDYLADDER MATHS
Pod 1 - Mixed Topics - Mathematics: 10 activities with all areas of the year 5 curriculum covered.
Pod 2 - Fractions & Decimals: 9 tasks 

STUDYLADDER READING
Pod 3 - NAPLAN Reading: 6 texts of varying genre with 10 questions to develop comprehension.

READING
