Today students used their Chromebooks to explore some of the concepts related to digital technologies, such as computational thinking. Listening to the silence and clicking of keyboards in the room I would say that they were totally engaged.
As an introduction for further discussion and development, room 7/8 students used the following website to complete a short task that covered areas relating to algorithms, branching, patterns, iteration, repetition and loops, decomposition, and abstraction.
I recommend that children encourage their parents and caregivers to go to this site and try it for themselves. Let me reassure you that some of these concepts are just as foreign to me as they are to you.
