Week 11, Term 1

IMPORTANT MESSAGE:
There will be a shared lunch this Thursday to celebrate the students' achievements this term.
We ask that students bring a plate of food to share.
Room 8 Savoury
Room 7 Sweet
Thank you.

Work due: Friday Week 11 (Except for Music in individual class music lesson)

These are two great examples of last week's homework expectations. Thank you, Immi J and Tania!

We also had some great word searches created on the Chromebooks. Best week of home work this year with 51 out of 58 students completing their homework to table captain's expectations.

TIMES TABLES
This week's focus are the 4 & 8 times tables. Create a Word find on a doc that uses the answers of the 4 & 8 x tables. (words ie thirty two)

SPELLING
Complete your look, say, cover, write, check in their LSCWC small notebook.
The 4 boxes in their LSCWC book need to be completed by Thursday.
It is best that they complete a LSCWC on separate nights. Some kids have shown great improvement with a practice test also given by their parents on one night. Please get them to slip/staple any extra practice evidence into their book, to show us.(LSD)

READING
Read for ten minutes every night or twenty minutes three times in a week.
Please find a way to read together with someone. Take a role each (maybe characters, narrators divided) Be a boy or girl and try to create a voice for that character. Journal: how you separated the roles in your reading time and tell us how the other readers read. (PLEASE get photo evidence)
ie
Mum - Narrator: Read well, with great expression. She made it exciting
Sister - Red Riding Hood: Tried really hard and sounded sweet and innocent.
Grandpa - Wolf: Soooo scary and loud. Sounded just like the Big Bad Wolf.

Also thank you for all of the photos being emailed to us. Don't stop. We are collecting the photos for a school presentation.

MUSIC (If it was not completed in Week 8)
Listening Log is due for room 7/8.
- 10 Own Choice (from anywhere)
- 5-10 Classical (from Classics for Kids)
- 10 Jazz (Jazz in Time)
- 10 Rock (100 Years of Rock)
No more music class time will be given. I will be marking these in the holidays.

JAPANESE
Continue from week 10: learn/remember the name of your table team/group in Japanese. Make sure you can say/pronounce it. If your table has a sentence or phrase on the score card learn/remember this sentence pattern. Get your captain to see me if you are unsure. Example: Bangou tasu bangou wa bangou desu (addition).

Work for your interest:
The students have the opportunity to further their work at home if they wish. The work below is not expected homework.
GEOGRAPHY (continued)
Collaborative Project
This is the final week of assessment with only a handful of groups yet to present.

Each group has had a leader assigned who has had to share the groups Google Sites project. This is a group created/collaborated website project where the students are compiling their slides research.

Below are links to examples of the documents we often access.
