Reminder that Year 5 students will be doing their NAPLAN tests in week 3. Due to this our regular timetable leading up to and during the tests is likely to vary - possibly at short notice.
This week's focus are the 6 & 9 times tables. Be creative. Be able to show/demonstrate and explain to us how you practised.
e.g. Can you say them aloud, first using odd ( 1x6, 3x6...) then even (2x6, 4x6...). Or saying them backwards.
SPELLING
Complete your look, say, cover, write, check in their LSCWC small notebook.
The 4 boxes in their LSCWC book need to be completed by Thursday.
It is best that they complete a LSCWC on separate nights. Some kids have shown great improvement with a practice test also given by their parents on one night. Please get them to slip/staple any extra practice evidence into their book, to show us.(LSD)
READING
Each day, read one required comprehension sheet and answer all questions. We will be discussing the text the following day to look at how to improve reading and comprehension skills.
JAPANESE
There will be a short test in week 2 on the maths words and sentences we have been using. Please use the document shared with you Japanese in the Classroom to help you learn.
