HISTORY
Add final touches and edits to their projects which will be graded this week. We recomend that students present the website to someone at home and answer questions about each of their pages and why they have created pages, added information and how they found their information.

Year 5 and Year 6 students have different curriculum focus topics.
We have attached the homework assignments and assessment rubrics below.
Year 5's focus is - Investigating Colonial Life in Australia.
Year 6's focus is - Contributions to Australian Society.

Although this is an individual assignment and we will be spending a considerable amount of time in class working on it and explicitly teaching aspects, we are hoping that students take the opportunity to extend their work and presentation skills using their homework time.
Obviously we don't want parents doing the majority of the assignment for their child but we both encourage that parents take particular interest in this assignment and assist the students with:
  • Researching - locating quality information and visuals (photos and videos)
  • Writing - Making sure that the information on their website is in their own words (not copied)
  • Website - Helping from a users point of view. Is the website easy to navigate, engaging and informative?
JAPANESE
Continue to work on your own slides presentation that displays all the characters we have learned so far. Spend a few minutes each night reviewing the characters. There will be a test on Friday week 9 (E,U,MA,RO,DO,GI). There will also be a test on these words:  kita, minami, higashi, nishi.(directions NSEW).
